About Us
|
Hessle Open Gateway is a social club for people with learning difficulties. We meet on a Thursday evening at Hessle Community Centre from 7pm to 9pm to enjoy social and creative activities but most of all to have fun! Our purpose is to provide an inclusive, safe and stimulating environment for our members and respite for carers. We are a registered Charity, run by a Group Leader and a team of dedicated volunteers.
Our members come along to enjoy snooker and pool or table top games, some like to join in our creative activities, and others come to enjoy the atmosphere and catch up with their friends. Each week we have different creative activities such as painting, drawing, making seasonal cards or playing team games. We have special events throughout the year such as an indoor sports competition, ten pin bowling, entertainers, discos and a Christmas party. |
Who We Are
|
We are entirely self funded and dependent on member subscriptions, grants and donations to keep the club running. We organise our own fundraising activities too and have at least one sponsored event every year and a coffee morning.
